Fashion Lawyer: Staci Riordan has always proudly owned her fashion lineage and identity. A daughter from a long line of apparel manufacturers who also gained hands on experience as an apparel executive and professor, Staci knew she would one day practice “Fashion Law.” Despite being encouraged to try other practice areas because “Fashion Law” was unheard of and laughable at best, Staci stayed on course to obtain her Juris Doctorate degree, from Loyola Law School of Los Angeles, so she could practice fashion law. Today, Staci is considered one of the founders of “Fashion Law” and is sought after for her expertise by clients, students and other lawyers as well as to provide commentary, write articles and for speaking engagements
Always the trail-blazer, Staci is one of a handful of woman who made equity partner in BigLaw and is currently the chair of the Fashion Law Practice at Nixon Peabody LLP, one of the top international law firms in the USA, where she is also a partner.
Staci is also the Executive Director for The Fashion Law Project, an academic center housed at Loyola Law School, Los Angeles where she is also an adjunct professor, teaching Fashion Law and the Fashion Law Clinic. Also involved in the fashion community, Staci is an Executive Board Member with the California Fashion Association (CFA), a Board Member and Fundraising Committee for Apparel Industries Group for the City of Hope, and the Nominating Chair and past-Regional Director for Fashion Group International, Los Angeles (FGILA) as well as involved in bar associations and legal groups such as the International Trademark Association (INTA), the Beverly Hills Bar Association (BHBA) and Women Lawyers of Los Angeles (WALA).
Professional mom: Being a successful lawyer has also not changed Staci’s other identity as the Chief Executive Mommy & Wife, at home, to two beautiful kids and a wonderful husband. She takes pride in being a “dance mom” for her daughter Samantha and shares her love for numbers with her son, Micah, by keeping stats for his travel ball team. With a full plate, Staci understands the very difficult challenge of juggling all her many roles, something millions of women in America do daily. Staci is passionate about sharing tips with entrepreneur moms and other professionals who do “The Juggle,” daily.
Speaker: Staci uses her inspiring story to help guide many to follow their passion, find balance, be happy and be successful at what they do. If you are interested in hiring Staci for your event, find out more information at Hire Staci to Speak.
